How do you turn soup into gold?

Add 24 carrots (karats)!

And then there’s the question of what did the cheese say to itself when it looked in the mirror…
…”halloumi” (hello me)

Bahhhhhh!!!!!!

This is what happens to you at 2am with no wind in the middle of the doldrums. Same again mid-afternoon 12 hours later when you haven’t been able to sleep and the fact you haven’t had a proper wash in 10 days creeps up on you.

Then there’s the alphabet game…
A to Z of countries; capital cities; films; fruit ‘n’ veg; sports stars and so the “fun” continues.

Oh not forgetting which part of the boat would you be… and why?

Great opportunity for the daily chafe and rig checking and adding self-amalgamating tape to my vocabulary and repertoire of things to have handy in one’s pocket.

Chafe repair to the vang... nice bit of whipping

Anti chafe sock and tape to replace on a pin ;) exciting stuff

Still 9 degrees north of the equator; still several hundred miles of doldrums to sail.

Loving it 😉

    Dear Alyson,

Thank you so much for your updates, I love getting your news, and even my husband asks if there is a new update ,every day !!! You write so well that I feel sea sick ,when you do, my hair scratches from not been washed and I think I even smell, but like you thanks to Clarins all is well !.

I am sure your crew are very lucky to have you on board.

I saw Chris Preston 2 weeks ago,and he indicated that he would like to get your news.

Thank you again, and thank the crew for what they are doing for Mercy Ships.

    Amitis

    Francoise
